The purpose of Västra Vång was :
- To investigate the site and determine the presence and quality of any intact cultural layers .....
- To educate archaeology student at the department of Archeology and Ancient History at Lund University in practical fieldwork, archaeological documentation techniques and post excavation work.
- To try out new documentation techniques and 3D techniques in digital archeology.
These methods were developed and tested under the responsibility of Björn Nilsson at the Department of Archeology and Ancient History, Lund University, as part of the research project ....
In addition to these three main aims, the project also includes a digital education component that has been carried out as part of Paola Derudas' docoral thesis project.
